Are we Christians

Act 11:26  And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Christian is a word derived from Christ. Even as a personality from america is called an american. And from Europe a European, a Nigeria, Nigerian. Same way is a true follower of Christ called a Christian today. As our text would suggest, this set of people were seen in fellowship together, "there assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people" even as when the Jews saw the boldness with which Peter and Paul preached perceived that they had been with Christ in "Act_4:13 (Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.)" There saw a Christ like nature in them, some features that undeniably portrays them as Christ's, there perceived that this personalities had been under the turtiledge of Jesus, you could remember that there marvelled at his doctrine, in the same manner there marveled at the teachings of this persons and so earned the name or title Christians.
So many people today bear this name, not for the fact that they poccess the characteristics of Christ as an american would poccess that of his country. They now bear it for for the sake of it, not having a relationship with him.
like in the beginning, the good Lord desires a one on one fellowship with him, a medium were he can communicate with us and we with him, and each day he comes at the cool of the day still asking your name asking to know were you are, but we still hide ourselves from his presence but yet rant that we are Christians, our busy schedule has hidden us from him, our sin in which he readily would've forgiven covers us in such shame that we seek for leaves to hide ourselves in. we bear the name but we deny the power thereof, He didn't come this length to die just so we can claim his gift and promise(salvation)! he intends much more as a deep relationship that we truly can be called sons and daughters, co-heir with him in glory and at last sit at his right hand even as he sits at the right hand of his father. each day he yearns to fellowship with us, hear us call to him and have us quietly listen to his answers in whispers to the depths of our consciousness. the truth is, if we ain't his son, we are sure not orphans, we are sons of one or another, and its either God or the Devi as said in "1Jhn_3:8  (He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.)"
yet we debate on this scriptures. We often use the adage that says. "How would a fish be in the water without the water touching it or without it drinking from the water." forgetting than he that has called us would give us grace to fulfill his purpose. This is what Christianity is all about, living a Christ-like life in a corrupt, sinful and dirty world. The power of Christ helps us to live above sin. Even as God wouldn't tell us something He knows too well we cannot do. And still yet he said, be ye righteous even as your father in heaven is righteous, this is to say that we can. And i mean sure can live a life without sin in a sinful world when we come in total yielding and surrender. Asking him to take full control and giving up ourselves to his will... We can do it. And if we can't, we are of the devil and are no Christians. As plain as that.
